Lizmen Lore by Elemental

Lizmen
A bombardment of cosmic radiation hits the surface of Onogni during its early years, affecting much of the inhabiting lifeforms. Primitive lizards were among these, growing taller and more intelligent. As they learned to walk they learned to fear the great changes of the land. Fire shooting from the ground, the disappearance of land beneath the waves, and a darkening of the sky caused a great migration. Fleeing from the fires of primitive Onogni, the Lizmen created dwellings underground in caves to escape the sulfur and ash. The Lizmen began to build tribes and a primitive job system (hunters and gatherers). They survived many years like this, through the harsh transformations and emerged stronger. They worshipped the rocks around them as gods, whose will it was to provide them shelter.
Many Lizmen tribes turned on each other in competition for food and living space. Some of the tribe leaders suggested burrowing further into the ground to increase their dwellings. The tribes expanded their caves and found many useful minerals for crafting, including gold and iron. These discoveries allowed them to make stronger weapons, aiding in their defense against other creatures.
Once the planet settled and new life started to form, the Lizmen were hesitant to venture out into the unknown. With knowledge came fear, and they feared for their survival. Many years passed. Yet again the Lizmen saw great change come to the world and decided to change with it.
Upon coming to a great expanse of water, which they named Haru (Haroo?). There were signs of a battle years before. As they approached Haru, there was a flurry of activity beneath the surface. From Haru emerged the water beings, the Traiads, who approached them with kindness. Communication began slowly but the Traiads helped the Lizmen to learn about basic technologies they had not known. To the craftsmen they taught the art of forging stronger metals with the minerals they had harvested from the mountain sides. To the tribal leaders they spread their knowledge and experience in unity
In return, the Lizmen made for the Traiad a strong and waterproof cloth called urru and swore to aid them in battle, as they are fierce warriors. Knowing that the Lizmen would be a great help if ever another war should erupt between the Traiad factions, the Royalists graciously accept the Lizmen's allegiance.
With a new alliance formed and their fear of exploration fading, the Lizmen ventured into the unknown parts of the world with the Traiad by their side.
